Mission description

ROLE
The local business intelligence position implements the solutions and the recommendations of intelligence reporting from the ASPAC Regional BI; supports entity management with analyzes of the relevant information and timely reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create complex reports and dimensional analyses for local management using the existing corporate reporting tools and data across all departments (Front, Middle & Back Office) that are not supported by Regional office
• Participate in budget preparation, analyze data consistency and main budget KPIs, assist with budget reporting preparation
• Train local teams to use BI tools (Infocentre, Planners and Excel)
• Train local teams to understand the relevance of specific reporting and communicate on best practices
• Communicate local reporting development, data issues and business intelligence needs to the Regional office on a regular basis
• Ensure that regional communication is delivered to the right population: suggest changes to user population, support the local team with additional explanations required
• Act as a local project leader for BI projects in collaboration with the Regional BI team
• Provide inputs and participate in User Acceptance Testing / Business Testing of BI solutions
• Identify issues and initiate processes improvement regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, viability and value (in collaboration with BPA\OC departments of any other department in charge of process changes execution)
• Identify new potential data sources maintained locally: value of new data, integration into reporting (locally or centrally), assessment of data readiness for automation and optimization
• Identify intelligence needs of each department through one-to-one communication with key employees; duties specific to this function may include the assessment of the following: what decisions need to be made, why decisions need to be made, when decisions need to be made, and who will use the intelligence to make the decisions; anticipate potential issues with requirements and act proactively to solve them
• Conduct workshops to drive and define new requirements or changes

 

Profile

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, business or financial analysis, reporting, budgeting
• Report development experience in any of the following tools (ordered by preference): Cognos, Tableau, MS Power BI, Qlikview, Microstartegy, Business Object
• Understanding of relational and multidimensional data models
• Good knowledge of one of the functional areas: finance management, customer relationships and sales, freight forwarding or logistics operations
• Basic knowledge of financial reporting (P&L, BS, CF) is a must
• Knowledge and practical experience of data preparation and analysis
• Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to analyze and understand business needs in order to translate them into system specifications and deliverable solutions
• Strong visual design skills used in creating information dense, easy to understand reports and dashboards
• Analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
• Must be willing to work with and learn new technologies
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VBA is a plus
• Experience with \understanding of statistical modeling is a plus
